The story may have its fair share of schmaltz and cheesiness, but the direction and performances from the cast make this a believable and painful story about young love. It’s also refreshing to see a film that doesn’t overstay its welcome. Nice review. Check out mine once you get the chance.

I agree that this movie is expected to be a “fun romp” but I do think it takes itself seriously as a realistic portrayal of both a fantastical realm as well as a down to earth place called Earth. The special effects have painstaking detail and this is noteworthy compared to The Green Lantern. It is a serious artistic expression of many people’s viewpoint that combine to a cohesive set in Asgaard. My kids were begging me to rent a movie and honestly I’m reluctant most of the time because most of them aren’t appropriate for my kids. I’m a very strict parent when it comes to what they watch but since I saw Thor in the theater when I saw it on my employee DISH Network receiver I rented it because I liked it and thought it was appropriate. I always rent in HD because we have a big TV and DISH always has the best quality HD available. The HD is free for life too for qualifying customers which always impresses me when I think about it.

Thank you for that very complete review. I have been on the fence about this movie but you may have convinced me to rent it. I have been wary of comic movies. I grew up as an avid fan of X-men and Spiderman comic books. Spiderman is still my favorite, despite the moves, Spiderman 3 being the worst. I don’t have a lot of hope for the reboot either. The X-men movies were ok, better then the Spiderman movies anyway. I didn’t think they deserved a reboot/prequel. That’s the reason I didn’t go see it in the theater, that and movies are getting kind of expensive to keep up on. Even with the changes I will have to give it a chance. I just signed up with Blockbuster Movie Pass from my TV provider/employer DISH Network and I am using it to get caught up on all the movies I couldn’t see in theaters. Now I can rent all the movies I missed for just $10 per month. They include streaming service to my TV and computer as well as thousands of DVD/Blu Ray movies and TV shows as well as video games! I put X-Men First Class at the top of my queue; it should be here in a day or 2. We will see if I can get past the changes. Changing Angel’s gender was ok, she’s pretty hot. Changing the Angels wings to bug wings was not so ok.

It was so funny when Derek came back and forgave Susan because she made him successful. B.O.B. getting confused all the time was funny and now the team is a kind of monsterhero. The music was quite nice too as it sounded much like a John Williams with a little Danny Elfman at the end. I am always looking for the movie I missed in the theater as I am an avid movie watcher but what I like about Blockbuster is that I can always find movies not only rare but 28 days before other movie services. Not only that but the Blockbuster Movie Pass from DISH Network that is free for new customers gives me one bill from DISH, over 100,000 movies plus games, streaming and I also get 20 movie channels on my DISH employee account as a current customer for only $10 a month. Next on my queue is Thor and I don’t have to pay extra for mail to my home, or Blue-ray.

Xmen: First Class is simply fantastic. Strong emotion and explosive action. The acting is top notch. Delivery from every actor is at it's best, more so from Mystique, Beast, Xavier and Magneto.

I'm Kobé. This is not my cut at all. This is a big fake version made by the Chinese Co-Producer. They just stole the masters and made this crap. It's horrible to be in my situation. I'm in big justice trouble with them. The original one is 10 times better in any ways. I can send you mu cut made in France if you want. At least I can have a little bit of my credibility back.
